Beginner Painting - Weds 6.30-8.30PM

Course Details

During this Beginner Painting Course students will work from a range of different still life compositions and landscape photos using inks and acrylic paint techniques. Working from sketch to final painting you will be inspired to experiment with new styles and approaches to build up confidence in composition and application! Expect to complete 3 paintings over the 6 week course! WEEK 1: The Basics An introduction into materials, techniques and application - students will complete several mini practice paintings to master the basics before week 2. WEEK 2: Still life - Floral Composition Students will work from still life to develop quick compositional sketch studies - choosing their favourite to be worked up into a quick Ink and Pen painting. WEEK 3 & 4: Landscape - Underpainting and sketch in Acrylic - (from photos) This week we will take a deeper delve into composition and perspective and look at how to create vibrant paintings using Charcoal and applying Acrylic washes . Week 5& 6 - Still Life - Fruit/Vegetables This week we will move on to experiment with expressive mark making and bold colours, understanding the role of negative space in composition and experimenting with scrape painting and palette knife techniques
