About the event
Overview of Rothko Paintings
Mark Rothko was an influential American painter known for his large-scale color field paintings. His work is characterized by the use of vibrant colors and simple, rectangular forms. Rothko aimed to evoke emotional responses through color, often creating a sense of transcendence and contemplation.
Session Details
This two-hour session will guide participants through the process of creating art inspired by Rothko's techniques. We'll start off using pastel to create exciting color swatches, which will then serve as a foundation for a larger painting in acrylic paint.
